B/A GNAT Proposes Sanitation As School Subject

The Brong Ahafo Regional branch of Ghana National Association of Teachers' (GNAT) have called for Sanitation as a compulsory subject in Ghana Education Service (GES) Syllabus in all sectors of education to enhance proper management of waste in the country.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Nsiah Michael the Regional Secretary of the association, he believes if GES and Education Ministry instruct teachers in all sectors to use at least five minutes of their lesson hours to teach students/ pupils proper management of waste and personal hygiene, students can have a mindset of proper sanitation and adopt the habit of good sanitation in the society which majority of the citizens wishes.

The current and previous governments have prioritize good sanitation policy in their administration so he believes the said proposal would be a solution to the filth that has engulf our various communities.
