We have observed in our conducted surveys that left-over garbages from the vast waste bins always left untouched by the waste management team on the field duty.
They only concentrate on the rubbishes in the storage bins leaving the scattered waste on the ground unconcerned thereby making the area unpleasant.
It becomes worst during rainy seasons. Breeding of mosquitoes, causing ailments such as air and water borne diseases.
Speaking to some section of the the residents at Abrepo and Bohyen communities all under the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), they disclosed that they are at times compelled to dump refuse any how because of monies been collected from those in charge of the refuse sites.
Responding to their claims on the monies charged before one can dump a refuse, they said it is unclear to them why some dumping sites collect a fee from them (residents) whiles other communities don't pay a pessewa for dumping refuse in their various sites.
